WR was originally established by Walter Raquet. Mr. Raquet previously co-founded Knight Capital Group (NYSE:KGC) in 1995. Knight was started with just $17 million in market capital and 70 employees. Within five years the company had reached an $8 billion market cap with 1400 employees and had become the NASDAQ’s largest individual market maker.
Mr. Raquet has assembled for WR a management team with a deep bench of experienced hedge fund professionals. Members of the management team have extensive experience in hedge fund investment, analytics and risk management, structuring, business development client services and have held senior positions at investment banks, hedge funds, and other large institutional money management firms.
WR recently announced a strategic partnership with Duff &Phelps (NYSE:DUF), a leading financial advisory and investment banking services firm, and Harcourt Investment Consulting AG (" Harcourt"), a leading Zurich -based alternative asset management company and part of the Vontobel Group, an internationally oriented Swiss private bank. The partnership will enable the firm to develop unique technology-based solutions that provide transparency for hedge funds and their investors.
